Hey Guys,
One of my favourite rooms in the house would have to be my daughter Naia Roses bedroom. It is so peaceful and calming we quite often all pile in there and lie on the floor chatting.
When we fell pregnant with Naia Rose we didn’t actually have any space for her. So we looked at all the different options and decided that building on top of the kitchen extension would be our most cost effective way of creating a bedroom for her.
We had to get creative for her bedroom as planning would only allow a Peaked roof which meant that we would have slopped roof either side of the room. To maximise space we built in little cubby holes under the sloping roof and had a vaulted celling to give that feeling of space.
We went for a more eco friendly, health friendly décor as well. Using wool insulation instead of the traditional insulation that is used in most houses. This actually wasn’t that much more expensive that the traditional ones either. Just took a little bit of shopping around and her room smelt a little bit like a damp sheep for a few days until the plaster board went up.
We painted her room in great white from Farrow and Ball. Which despite its name is actually more like a very pale pink colour.
The wall paper is from Mamas & Papas. We chose an eco friendly, non toxic ( hasn’t been sprayed with fire retardant) carpet which we picked up at carpet right.
Her cot I purchased from John Lewis and the chest of drawers from the Cotswold company. The water colour of the baby animals is from a very talented artist from the Ukraine that I found on Etsy.
The wall lights are from Wayfair. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for until I came across these, they are very inexpensive and I think they look great.
Hope you have enjoyed the little tour of the Nursery.
Would love to hear from you so if you have any questions please leave in the comment box below
Much Love
