   Coming Home to Autism

Hi, I'm Tara!

A published author, philanthropist and YouTube creator. I live in Dorset, UK with my three children Dylan, Luca, Naia-Rose and emotional support dog Rosie.

Following my eldest son's diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) in 2012, I  began to dedicate my time and energy to researching all there is to know about autism and ways in which I can help Dylan in this life. When we received Dylan’s diagnosis I was told that he may never talk , make friends and would struggle socially; he also may never live an independent life. I had never felt more alone and afraid in my life. However, I woke up one morning with a fire in my belly vowing to myself that I would do everything and anything to help Dylan.

With limited services available and autism still being relatively new in terms of what was known, and what can help with the sensory side of things, I knew I would need to learn all there was about autism so that I could help him myself. My studies took me all over the world. There is not one medical book or medical journal I have not read. There is not one therapy and holistic therapy I have not tried. Some were fantastic and some were complete failures.

Through trials and tribulations we have come out the other side. With this learned knowledge I wrote my first book; Coming Home To Autism together with my friend and Speech Therapist, Rhian Grounds. Following the success of my book I decided to start a YouTube channel so that I could help parents near and far. Many countries are not as lucky as we are here in the UK and so I felt by sharing my knowledge and letting people see in to our lives we could help them.

My mission is to support, reassure and inspire parents of Neurodiverse children. I am a big believer that you are your child’s best teacher and I’m here to give you the belief that you can do it; to give you the tools you can use to help your child.

I am delighted to say I am now offering 1:1 consultations for parents with ASC children, use the button below to book a session with me.

I am looking forward to meeting you!

"A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself. A mentor is someone who allows you to know no matter how dark the night, in the morning joy will come.
A mentor is some one who allows you to see the higher part of yourself when sometimes it becomes hidden to your own view."
